Welcome to Till Roll Factory
Buy till rolls and ribbons from The Retail Factory. You may not know but tills or cash registers were first invented by James Ritty in 1879. Using technical know how available at the time he created the first till and was able to protect pilfering customers stealing money from his Saloon. Nowadays tills are a mainstay in every retail outlet across the world from small newsagents, petrol stations and large supermarkets.
One of the most important aspects of a till is the receipt which it prints as a proof of sale for the customer. Unlike other parts of a till, the till roll which prints the customers till receipt is a consumable product and needs to be replaced on a regular basis.
Till rolls and ribbons come in three varieties as either Thermal, Printed or Plain Paper. It is possible to use two types of Paper Rolls, A Grade and TMP. A Grade till rolls are made using wood free paper and are the best quality paper till rolls available on the market. A Grade rolls as the name suggests produce a bright white till receipt and are very popular with large retailers. TMP till rolls are made using recycled paper and are the more economic option for the smaller retailer. The cost of TMP till rolls is lower than A Grade till rolls and produces an off white till receipt.
Plain Paper till printers requires an ink ribbon to be refilled on a regular basis. Thermal rolls are a recent innovation that dispenses a receipt quickly using thermal technology to print a receipt without the need for ink ribbons.
Popular models of Tills include Casio, Citizen, Star & Epson.
